Your Complete Umrah Travel
Guide from Ethiopia

Entering Ihram

Before Entering Ihram:

Take a complete shower (Ghusl)
Trim nails and remove unwanted hair
Wear Ihram clothing (2 white unstitched pieces)
Perform 2 Rak’ah prayer

Ihram Niyyah (Intention):

“Labbaik Allahumma Umratan” (O! Allaah, I answer Your call for Umrah)

Tawaf process

Tawaf Process:

Start from Hajar al-Aswad (Black Stone)
Circumambulate Kaaba 7 times counterclockwise
Recite supplications during each round
Kiss or touch Black Stone if possible

Important Notes:

Keep Kaaba on your left side, maintain Ihram, and avoid pushing others

Sa'i process

Sa'i Process:

Start from Safa hill
Walk to Marwa hill (1 round)
Return to Safa (2nd round)
Complete 7 rounds total
Recite supplications during walking

Historical Significance:

Commemorates Hajar’s search for water for her son Ismail

Halq or Taqsir (Hair Removal)

Hair Removal Options:

Halq: Complete head shaving (recommended for men)
Taqsir: Trimming hair (minimum 1 inch)
Women can only do Taqsir

After Hair Removal:

Ihram restrictions are lifted, normal clothing can be worn

Journey to
Madinah

Travel to Madinah: visit to

Masjid Quba

First mosque built in Islam.
Praying two rak’ahs here equals the reward of an Umrah.

Mount Uhud

Historic battlefield from the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Located north of Madinah, easily accessible on foot

Masjid Al-Qiblatain

Known as the mosque of two qiblas.
Site where prayer direction changed from Jerusalem to Kaaba.

Journey

Transfer to airport
Complete departure procedures
Board flight back to Ethiopia
